The Technology for Evolving Challenges in Humanitarian Contexts TECH 4 Resilience Challenge 2025 is calling on innovators and entrepreneurs worldwide to harness Artificial Intelligence (AI) in tackling climate-related emergencies and humanitarian crises. With up to $50,000 in funding, this initiative seeks groundbreaking AI-driven solutions that strengthen preparedness, response, and anticipatory action in vulnerable communities.
Addressing Urgent Global Challenges
The climate crisis is no longer a distant concern; it’s an ongoing threat affecting millions, especially in low- and middle-income countries. From extreme weather events to pandemics, conflicts, and food shortages, humanitarian challenges are intensifying. Women and young people often bear the greatest burden.
Advancements in AI now present a unique opportunity to design locally rooted, scalable, and predictive solutions that can protect livelihoods, reinforce health systems, and ensure food security.
About the TECH 4 Resilience Challenge
Organized by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), in collaboration with the Gates Foundation and the Trafigura Foundation, the TECH 4 Resilience Challenge aims to identify and scale seed-level AI innovations that can:
- Reduce the impact of extreme climate events in emergency situations.
- Strengthen and improve Anticipatory Action (AA) frameworks to better manage crises before they escalate.
In addition to funding, the program offers tailored leadership development, mentorship, communication support, and access to potential investors.
