Girls Who Invest (GWI) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Intensive Program, a unique opportunity for first-year and sophomore college women looking to pursue careers in investment management. The highly competitive program is designed to equip young women with technical knowledge, leadership skills, and industry experience to build pathways into finance.
About the Program
The GWI Intensive Program features two main tracks:
- Summer Intensive Program (SIP) – In-person, immersive learning experience hosted at the Wharton School.
- Online Intensive Program (OIP) – Remote version for broader accessibility.
Sophomore applicants can opt into the Internship Track, which offers the chance to secure paid internships at top U.S. investment firms partnered with GWI. These roles give participants real-world exposure, mentorship, and professional connections.
What Scholars Will Gain
Participants in the program will:
- Learn core finance and investment concepts from leading university faculty
- Receive mentorship from experienced industry professionals
- Engage in group capstone projects with real valuation experience
- Access internship and career development opportunities with GWI partners
- Build lifelong networks through GWI’s alumni and ambassador community
What the Grant Covers
Scholars selected for the Summer Intensive Program receive:
- Free housing and meals
- Additional financial assistance for internship-related costs (based on need)
- Ongoing career support and alumni engagement after the program
- A certificate of completion and access to GWI’s Alumni Career Institute

Eligibility Criteria
- First-Year Applicants: Graduation expected between Fall 2028 – Spring 2029
- Sophomore Applicants: Graduation expected between Fall 2027 – Spring 2028
- Must be enrolled at a U.S. or U.S.-style four-year accredited college or university
- Available for the full program duration (late May – August)
- Must not enroll in summer classes or hold internships during the program
How to Apply
Applicants are required to submit:
- Completed application with short answers
- One written essay (350–500 words)
- Resume and one-minute pre-recorded video
- Academic transcripts (unofficially accepted)
- Two reference feedback forms (Internship Track only)
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with the final deadline set for October 1, 2025. Interested students are encouraged to begin their applications early and complete all materials by the deadline. Once started, applications can be saved and revisited anytime before submission.
