About the Fellowship
Launched in 2024, the program is a joint initiative of the World Bank Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC), the Development Impact Group (DECDI), the Institutions Global Department, the Institute for Economic Development, and University College London (UCL). It is built on the principles of the Government Analytics Handbook and supported by leading academics and World Bank experts.
The fellowship combines practical training, in-service project development, and expert mentorship to help participants design and implement a government analytics project within their institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be employed in a central government organization (including agencies).
- Hold a mid-level management or senior analyst role with authority to lead a project.
- Be nominated by their organization (up to two applicants per institution).
- Have completed coursework in statistics or quantitative methods.
- Be proficient in English.
- Be available to travel to Washington, D.C., in early 2026 for in-person sessions.

- A comprehensive CV (maximum 3 pages).
- A 150-word project summary explaining how the fellowship will enhance government operations.
- An endorsement letter from the applicant’s organization, confirming nomination and support.
