The WomenLift Health East Africa Leadership Journey 2026 is a fully funded 12-month program designed to empower mid-senior career women in health across East Africa. Taking place from March 2026 to February 2027, this hybrid program combines virtual learning with in-person experiences to build authentic, inclusive, and impactful leadership.
About the Program
WomenLift Health provides a safe space for women leaders to explore their authentic leadership through reflection, vulnerability, and peer support. Participants gain access to a diverse network, coaching, and mentorship while learning strategies to strengthen their voice, influence, and presence in global health. All program costs, including travel and accommodation, are fully covered.

Program Components
- In-person residencies: Two immersive events – a 3-day Leadership Immersion and a 2-day Leadership Lift-Off – for experiential learning.
- Virtual touchpoints: Interactive online sessions exploring leadership frameworks, health priorities, and personal growth.
- Mentorship and coaching: Each participant is paired with mentors and executive coaches to support career growth and leadership development.
- Health Leadership Project: Participants design and implement a project addressing health challenges while integrating gender considerations.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Identify as a woman working in public health policy, practice, or research.
- Have 10–25 years of professional experience in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia).
- Reside and work within East Africa with strong English communication skills.
- Be available for at least 75% of the program within EAT/CAT time zones.
