The Merck Group Innovation Cup 2026 returns as one of the world’s most exciting innovation challenges for young scientists and business minds. This annual program brings together top postgraduate students, postdocs, and MBA talents for a fully funded innovation summer camp in Germany, offering the chance to learn, collaborate, network, and compete for the €20,000 grand prize.
Held from 8–14 August 2026 near Frankfurt, the Innovation Cup empowers participants to develop breakthrough solutions in healthcare, biotechnology, and advanced materials, supported by Merck researchers and industry experts.
About the Innovation Cup
The Innovation Cup is a competitive training program where selected participants join specialized teams to create new ideas that solve real scientific and technological challenges. Over the week-long camp, students work together to turn concepts into business-ready proposals.
Teams will focus on areas such as:
- Oncology
- Neuroscience & Immunology
- Drug Discovery
- Fertility & Reproductive Health
- Synthetic Biology
- Smart Manufacturing
- Advanced Electronic Materials
Participants learn directly from Merck mentors, attend expert sessions, and pitch their ideas to a high-level jury.

2. Postdoctoral Researchers
Postdoc applicants are welcome.
