The Internet Society Youth Ambassador Program 2026 is a prestigious initiative designed to empower young people who are passionate about shaping the future of the Internet. Every year, only 15 outstanding youths are selected from around the world to join this global leadership program, gaining the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to influence Internet policies and drive meaningful change in their communities.

About the Program

The program aims to build the next generation of Internet leaders by offering advanced training, mentorship, and direct exposure to global Internet governance activities. Youth Ambassadors also contribute to the Internet Society’s mission and 2030 strategy by promoting an open, secure, globally connected, and trustworthy Internet.

Participants join a vibrant community of experts, alumni, and advocates working together to protect and advance the future of the Internet.

Application Process (2026 Cycle)

The selection process is thorough and takes place in two main stages:

1. Online Application Review

  • Applications are reviewed anonymously in the first round.
  • Candidates are evaluated based on their alignment with the Internet Society’s values and their contribution to Internet-related causes.

2. Online Course on Internet Governance

  • Shortlisted applicants participate in an online Internet Governance training.
  • Students are placed into three classes, each guided by a dedicated tutor.
  • The top 15 performers from the course are selected as Youth Ambassadors.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the 2026 cohort, applicants must:

  • Be 18–30 years old at the time of application.
  • Demonstrate strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Be confident with public speaking and policy communication.
  • Have reliable Internet access and the necessary equipment.
  • Be available for weekly sessions (between 11:00–16:00 UTC).
  • Commit at least 4 hours per week throughout the program.
  • Hold a valid passport and be able to travel.
  • Not have previously been selected as:
    • Youth Ambassador
    • IGF Ambassador
    • IGF Youth Ambassador
    • Youth@IGF Fellow
  • Not have taken part in another ISOC fellowship in the last two years.
