The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund 2025-2026 is a one-time grant initiative supporting community-based organizations that enhance educational access and quality for underserved children. With grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000, this fund targets grassroots efforts that remove learning barriers and foster inclusive, safe, and equitable learning environments.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants are community-based, grassroots non-profit organizations serving between 500 and 10,000 individuals. Organizations must demonstrate direct involvement in implementing educational initiatives, possess legal non-profit registration, and show at least three years of financial stability. Only one application per organization is allowed.
Grant Types and Amounts
Organizations can apply for:
- General Operating Support – funding for organizational needs.
- Program/Project Support – funding specific educational programs.
Grants are one-year awards, with requested amounts limited to less than 50% of the organization’s annual budget. Around 150 organizations will be funded in Cycle I of 2026.

Selection Criteria
Applications are evaluated based on:
- Addressing Local Learning Barriers – tackling financial, infrastructural, and systemic obstacles to education.
- Equity and Inclusion – ensuring equal opportunities for female students, students with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.
- Child Safeguarding – prioritizing the safety and well-being of all children in programs.
- Implementation Capacity – clear program design, feasibility, monitoring frameworks, and organizational strength.
- Sustainability – potential for long-term impact, co-funding, partnerships, and community involvement.
Additional considerations include the organization’s alignment with Global Citizen’s strategic goals in K–12 education and using football or sports as a learning tool.
Reporting and Follow-Up
Selected organizations are required to submit mid-term and final reports on the use of funds and project outcomes. Initial screening may include meetings with Fund officials to clarify program objectives.
Application Timeline
Cycle I:
- Applications Open: October 27, 2025
- Applications Close: December 31, 2025
- Award Notifications: Early February 2026
Cycle II: Dates for 2026 will be announced later.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit their completed application in English (other languages will be available soon) through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund platform. Upon submission, organizations receive confirmation of receipt and may be contacted for additional information before December 31, 2025.
