The Baden-Württemberg Early Career Rescue Fellowships 2026–2028 offer an important opportunity for postdoctoral researchers whose academic work has been restricted due to political pressure in the United States. Supported by the State of Baden-Württemberg, this fellowship program aims to provide a safe academic environment where researchers can continue their work freely and strengthen their international career prospects.

About the Fellowship Programme
This initiative is jointly organized by the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS), the Tübingen College of Fellows (CoF), and the Zukunftskolleg Konstanz (ZuKo). The program creates academic “rescue havens” where researchers can pursue independent research without political interference, while gaining access to high-level academic networks in Germany.
A total of 14 fully funded postdoctoral fellowships are available.

- Monthly Funding: Up to E14 salary level (approximately €6,000 before taxes and mandatory social/health contributions)

- 1 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience
- Must be unable to continue research in the USA due to political restrictions
