The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) Programme 2026–2027 is now open for applications, inviting committed change-makers from around the world to join a fully funded fellowship dedicated to combating inequality. Hosted at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the programme brings together activists, researchers, innovators, and community leaders who are passionate about social justice and structural change.
This prestigious fellowship offers both Residential and Non-Residential study tracks, giving Fellows access to academic research, expert guidance, leadership development, and a lifelong global network working to build fairer, more inclusive societies.
About the AFSEE Programme
AFSEE is designed for individuals who are deeply engaged in challenging inequality within their communities or professional fields. The programme helps Fellows strengthen their leadership skills, expand their knowledge of global inequality issues, and become part of an international network working for systemic change.
The initiative places a strong emphasis on Global South representation, diversity, values-driven leadership, and long-term social transformation. Fellows learn directly from LSE faculty, global practitioners, and peers who share a common commitment to equity and justice.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following:
General Requirements (All Tracks)
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, especially related to tackling inequalities.
- Ability to meet LSE’s English Language Requirements.
- Strong alignment with AFSEE’s mission, values, and community.

Residential Track Requirements
- Must qualify for admission to the MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at LSE.

Application Process
Applicants must complete several steps to finalize their application:
1. Request References
Nominate two referees who must submit their recommendations before the reference deadline.
2. Upload Required Documents
You will need to provide:
- Academic transcripts or a document showing you do not hold an undergraduate degree.
- A statement of academic purpose.
- Your updated CV.
3. Meet the English Language Requirement
Applicants must meet LSE’s language standard. However, an English test is not required before submission.

Important Notes on the LSE Application System
- Applications must be submitted only once per admissions cycle.
