Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in fields such as Computer Science, Linguistics, Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Natural Sciences, or related areas.
- Have experience in at least one computer science area, such as machine learning, deep learning, optimization, or software engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in a full-time degree program in EMEA and returning after the internship.
- Previous research experience (internships, lab research, academic publications).
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Java, C/C++, MATLAB, or Go.
What Student Researchers Do
Student Researchers collaborate directly with Google scientists and engineers to:
- Explore innovative research questions
- Develop prototypes or models addressing large-scale problems
- Contribute to scientific publications
- Support the development of breakthrough technological solutions
Selected students are matched with teams based on their skills and research interests.
