Role Overview: Advocacy Manager
The Advocacy Manager will lead and coordinate YEE’s advocacy work to ensure it is values-aligned, evidence-informed, intersectional, and youth-driven. This is a part-time role (25 hours per week) offered under a service contract, with the possibility of renewal depending on funding availability.
The mandate officially runs from 1 March 2026 to 31 December 2026, with a two-month provisional period. An onboarding meeting will take place in late February 2026 to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Objective of the Position
The Advocacy Manager is a central figure within YEE’s organisational structure. Working closely with the Advocacy Department, Executive Board, and Secretariat, the role focuses on strengthening the quality, coherence, and impact of YEE’s advocacy initiatives.
The position is designed to enhance collaboration with member organisations and partners, support youth engagement in policy spaces, and translate youth perspectives into concrete advocacy strategies. Through this role, YEE aims to empower young people to meaningfully contribute to environmental and climate justice solutions across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
The Advocacy Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the work of the Advocacy Department
- Leading YEE’s engagement in EU and international policy processes
- Supporting member organisations with advocacy-related initiatives
- Representing YEE in relevant policy, partnership, and stakeholder spaces
- Developing and implementing strategic advocacy priorities
- Analysing policy developments and advising on appropriate advocacy responses
- Strengthening partnerships and external collaborations
- Ensuring advocacy actions reflect youth-led, inclusive, and intersectional approaches
Whenever advocacy support is requested for projects or events, the Advocacy Manager will oversee coordination, assign responsibilities, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery.
Ideal Candidate Profile
YEE is looking for a candidate who:
- Is deeply committed to environmental advocacy, youth empowerment, and social justice
- Has previous experience in youth advocacy and policy engagement
- Is confident in professional and public communication settings
- Can think strategically and turn priorities into actionable advocacy plans
- Is highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Works effectively both independently and within diverse teams
- Demonstrates creativity and openness to innovative advocacy approaches (such as artivism)
- Has a strong understanding of European and international policy frameworks
- Shows cultural sensitivity and inclusivity when working with diverse youth and stakeholders
- Can critically analyse policy developments and provide informed recommendations
Essential Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have excellent written and spoken English skills (C1 or C2 level)
- Be a resident in Europe, preferably with an existing EU work permit
- Be under 35 years old by the end of the contract period
- Be strongly aligned with YEE’s mission and core values

Contract and Remuneration
The Advocacy Manager will receive a gross monthly remuneration of €2,251.99 for 25 hours per week, in line with YEE’s internal regulations.
Candidates must be able to issue invoices according to their national legislation. Applicants based in the Czech Republic may alternatively be offered a local employment contract in accordance with Czech labour law.
