The United Nations 64th Geneva Graduate Study Programme (GSP) 2026 is one of the most respected academic opportunities offered by the UN. As the UN’s oldest educational initiative, the programme has welcomed nearly 3,500 participants from more than 120 countries over the last six decades.
This two-week summer programme offers graduate students a deeper understanding of the UN system, global diplomacy, and the role of “International Geneva.” The 2026 edition focuses on one of the world’s most critical topics: AI and Emerging Technologies, Realities, Risks, and Opportunities.
About the 64th GSP
The 2026 programme will take place from 29 June to 10 July 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
Participants will engage in:
- Expert-led lectures and presentations
- Thematic research sessions
- Group work and collaborative projects
- Visits to UN agencies and international institutions
- Networking with diplomats, UN officials, and global scholars
The goal is to give students a comprehensive view of how the UN addresses challenges in artificial intelligence, digital governance, and rapidly developing technologies.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 64th Graduate Study Programme, applicants must:
- Be 22–32 years old
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s, PhD, MBA, or equivalent)
- Be fluent in written and spoken English
- Not be employed full time
- Submit all required documents in English
The selection committee evaluates candidates based on academic excellence, extracurricular or professional experience, motivation, and references. The programme aims to maintain fair gender and regional representation.

Late or incomplete applications are not considered.
Cost and Financial Information
Participation in the GSP is free of charge, but students must cover their own:
- Travel expenses
- Visa fees
- Accommodation
- Meals and personal costs
The UN does not offer financial aid for this programme. However, some past participants received support from universities, foundations, or government bodies.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following:
- One-page CV
- One-page recommendation letter
- 60-second motivation video (English, vertical format, no edits)
- Passport copy (or national ID for EU/EFTA applicants only)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate
- Proof of current graduate enrolment
All documents must be submitted together, as the UN does not accept separate uploads or email submissions.
Application Guidelines
Applicants must:
- Submit all documents in English
- Ensure the motivation letter, CV, and recommendation do not exceed one page
- Upload the motivation video via YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox
- Apply only once
- Complete the online form before the deadline
A confirmation email is not sent. If the form was submitted correctly, the application was received.
