NBA Africa Relaunches Triple-Double Accelerator with Prizes for Startups

NBA Africa has officially opened applications for the second edition of its Triple-Double Accelerator, a 10-week program designed to support early-stage African startups working in sports and the creative industries. This initiative returns after a successful debut in 2024 and promises even more opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs across the continent.

What is the Triple-Double Accelerator?

The Triple-Double Accelerator is a competitive, high-impact startup program by NBA Africa, operated in partnership with ALX Ventures and newly joined official partner ServiceNow, a leading enterprise AI platform. The program aims to boost African innovation by providing:

  • Expert mentorship from NBA Africa, ALX Ventures, ServiceNow, and other corporate leaders
  • Upskilling and strategic business guidance
  • A chance to pitch live on Demo Day in December
  • Financial support and long-term brand exposure

What’s New in 2025?

This year, five startups will receive prizes during the final Demo Day, as opposed to four in the previous edition. Additional features include:

  • Continued partnership with ALX Ventures to run the program
  • New official partnership with ServiceNow, bringing cutting-edge AI business expertise to participants
  • An expanded support structure for product development, go-to-market strategy, and business scaling

Why Apply?

The accelerator is a rare opportunity for tech-enabled startups across Africa to connect with top-tier global mentors, refine their solutions, and gain international visibility.

In 2024, over 700 startups applied, with 10 finalists pitching at the NBA Headquarters in New York City. The winners, Festival Coins (Nigeria), Salubata (Nigeria), HustleSasa (Kenya), and UBR VR (Egypt), received grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.

This year’s Demo Day, scheduled for December 2025, promises to be even bigger with five winning startups to be awarded.
