Mastercard Foundation 2026 Internship Program for African Graduates

The Mastercard Foundation is inviting applications for its 2026 Internship Program, an 11-month non-renewable opportunity designed to empower young Africans with hands-on experience, mentorship, and career growth. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy, aimed at equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills, exposure, and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s workforce.

About the Internship

The program provides meaningful learning experiences while supporting the Foundation’s operations, programs, and partnerships. Interns will gain professional exposure and contribute to impactful projects across various departments, preparing them for future employment or entrepreneurial opportunities.

Interns will also benefit from the Foundation’s career development program, e-learning platforms, and mentorship opportunities while working in multicultural, collaborative environments.

Program Structure

  • Duration: 11 months (non-extendable)
  • Location: MasterCard Foundation offices in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda
  • Start Date: January 15, 2026
  • Deadline: September 7, 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be eligible to work in one of the seven African countries where the Foundation operates.
  • Be a recent graduate with 0–4 years of work experience.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Economics, Law, Computer Science, Finance, or Communications.
  • Show strong academic performance, research and analytical skills, and a passion for youth development in Africa.
  • Be available full-time for the internship.
