The Kaseb Democracy Innovation Lab 2026 is now accepting submissions from individuals and teams creating bold, early-stage ideas that can reshape the foundations of democracy. This year’s theme focuses on “reimagining community-building for inclusive and resilient democracies,” with the goal of supporting solutions that strengthen belonging across diverse groups.
The programme aims to identify 10 innovative community-building projects and provide them with seed funding, mentorship, and a global platform to scale their impact.
About the Kaseb Democracy Innovation Lab
Kaseb’s Innovation Lab supports early-stage changemakers who are working to build a more inclusive democratic future. The iLab looks for ideas that challenge conventional systems and introduce practical, scalable solutions for strengthening civic engagement, community cohesion, and cross-cultural understanding.
For 2026, the Lab invites innovators who are actively creating new ways for people from different backgrounds to connect, collaborate, and thrive.
What the iLab Offers
Selected participants receive:

A series of 4–5 virtual workshops plus an in-person gathering in 2027.

Who Should Apply?
The Lab is ideal for:
- Entrepreneurs
- Journalists and storytellers
- Researchers and civic innovators
- Technologists
- Community organizers
- Anyone leading a project aimed at improving democratic systems
Projects may be at the idea, pilot, or post-pilot redesign stage.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Project must align with the theme:
“Reimagining community-building for inclusive and resilient democracies.” - Project Lead must be 18 years or older.
- The Lead must dedicate meaningful time to the project.
- Must be able to attend all scheduled virtual sessions and the in-person 2027 gathering.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Applicants may apply from any country globally.
If a project does not meet the eligibility criteria, it cannot move forward to the pitch stage.

- Project Lead Nomination Deadline: January 16, 2026 (11:59 PM ET)
Note: If the pitch form reaches capacity, Kaseb may close submissions early and provide a final 48-hour window for final entries.
