The World Bank Treasury Summer Internship is a prestigious 10-week training program created to prepare exceptional college students for successful careers in global finance. Each year, up to 16 talented undergraduates from around the world are selected to gain hands-on experience working at the World Bank’s Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.
About the Internship Program
This internship is the only World Bank program designed exclusively for undergraduate students. Interns rotate across three specialized Treasury teams, participate in technical sessions, and work on a capstone project that showcases their learning and teamwork. The experience helps students build vital skills in financial markets, risk management, and sustainable investing—laying the foundation for a future role as a Junior Analyst at the World Bank.
Internship Duration and Structure
The internship runs full-time for 10 weeks, from May 26 to August 3, 2026.
Key phases include:
- Onboarding: May 26–29
- Team Rotations: June 1–July 31
- Capstone Presentation: August 3
During the program, interns receive laptops, full onboarding training, and mentorship. The World Bank also sponsors visas for international interns, ensuring a smooth experience for participants coming from more than 60 countries.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be in the second-to-last year of a four-year degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Have an expected graduation date between December 2026 and September 2027.
- Maintain strong academic performance and be available full-time during the internship.
- Demonstrate genuine interest in financial markets and global development.
- Do not hold another internship or employment during the program.
