The Tech Policy Press Fellowship 2026 is now open for applications, offering journalists, researchers, and policy professionals the chance to explore critical issues at the intersection of technology and democracy. With a $10,000 stipend, the year-long, part-time fellowship supports independent projects that inform the public and decision-makers on pressing technology-related challenges.
About the Fellowship
Launched in 2023, Tech Policy Press has already supported fellows from around the world who have produced impactful work on topics such as AI governance, digital rights, and tech regulation. The 2026 fellowship will continue this mission by funding projects that highlight underrepresented voices and regions in global tech policy conversations.
Each selected fellow will:
- Receive a $10,000 stipend distributed quarterly.
- Join an international cohort for collaboration, feedback, and mentorship.
- Contribute to monthly analysis or reporting on technology and democracy.
- Participate in editorial check-ins and cohort meetings.
- Access global networking opportunities and editorial guidance.

Eligibility
The program is open to:
- Journalists, researchers, lawyers, and public policy professionals.
- Applicants with expertise in tech policy, digital governance, or related areas.
- International applicants, with encouragement for candidates from underrepresented communities.
Fellowship Timeline

- Duration: 12 months (remote, part-time)
