About the Program

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest private philanthropic organization tackling poverty, disease, and inequity, is seeking passionate AI professionals for its 2025 fellowship cohort. Fellows will work full-time for 12 months on high-priority projects across the Foundation’s divisions, including Global Health, Global Development, Gender Equality, and Growth & Opportunity. Projects may include building AI-powered diagnostic tools, creating interactive prototypes for field assessments, and developing agent-based data dashboards to improve decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or a related field. They should demonstrate proficiency in AI/ML tools, data handling, and software engineering, along with a commitment to applying AI responsibly for the public good. Applicants must also have the legal right to work in the country where the position is based, as visa sponsorship is not available.

Application Deadline

Applications close September 17, 2025, for the November 2025 cohort. Selected candidates may be invited to complete a technical assessment, followed by interviews.
