The HBCU CONNECT HBCU Student Scholarship Program 2025–2026 is an educational support initiative designed to help students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities achieve their academic goals. With several $1,000 scholarship awards available, this program gives both current and incoming HBCU students the opportunity to reduce the cost of tuition or purchase essential books for the academic year.
Founded in 1999, HBCU CONNECT is the largest global platform for HBCU students, graduates, and supporters. Over the years, the organization has provided numerous scholarships and continues to serve as a bridge connecting students to resources, career opportunities, and professional networks.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2025–2026 scholarship cycle, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in any accredited HBCU within six months of the application deadline.
- Be a graduating high school senior, a transfer student, or a current HBCU student.
- Provide proof of enrollment when required.
- Use a valid email address and monitor it regularly for updates throughout the application process.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete the online scholarship form, which includes:
- Personal information (name, email, DOB, gender, city, state)
- Details of the HBCU you attend or will attend
- Major, graduating class, and current GPA
- A brief essay answering:
“Why did you choose to attend an HBCU and how will attending an HBCU help you meet your future goals?” - Optional uploads:
- A recent photo
- A current resume
- A YouTube video link
- Membership registration questions on the HBCU CONNECT platform
Important: Email communication will be used throughout the process. Applicants who fail to monitor their email risk being disqualified.

Scholarship Disbursement
Selected recipients will receive up to $1,000, which will be applied directly to their college or university. The funds may cover:
- Tuition
- Academic textbooks
Scholarships are valid for one academic year, non-transferable, and must be used at the same institution listed in the application.
