Black Ideas Grant 3.0 2025 Funding Program

The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) has officially launched the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0 2025, an empowering funding initiative that offers $8 million in total investment to support Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) organizations across Canada.

This one-year flexible funding opportunity is designed to help Black organizations create lasting, community-driven solutions that address the most urgent social and economic challenges facing Black communities nationwide.

About the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0

The Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 3.0 supports B3 organizations working to improve the socio-economic well-being of Black Canadians. It funds innovative initiatives that deliver measurable, sustainable impact across three focus areas:

  1. Combatting Anti-Black Racism
  2. Improving Social Outcomes
  3. Enhancing Economic Opportunities

Through this initiative, the FFBC aims to empower Black-led organizations to address systemic barriers and promote inclusive growth, equity, and community resilience.

Grant Streams and Funding Amounts

Eligible B3 organizations can apply under one of three funding streams, depending on their project needs and stage of development:

  • Core Stream: Up to $30,000 to support organizational and operational needs.
  • Catapult Stream: Up to $80,000 to launch or expand existing programs and services.
  • Community Spaces Stream: Up to $200,000 for capital projects or social infrastructure development.

These grants offer the flexibility and resources needed to scale impact and sustain meaningful community work.
